SERVICING


We provide a comprehensive repair service for all types of bicycle, from puncture repairs to full bike services.

CYTECH TRAINED

  • All our mechanics are CyTech trained.

  • CyTech is a qualification administered by the Association of Cycle Traders and endorsed by the Bicycle Association of Great Britain.

We offer three levels of servicing for your bike:

Book a service

SAFETY CHECK SERVICE

Basic service suggested for the assembly of bikes supplied in boxes or bought over internet and those that have been in storage for a while.

The service checks that all parts are correctly assembled and adjusted.

This service includes:

  • Gear indexing
  • Brake alignment
  • Bolts checked and tightened
  • Tyres checked and inflated to the correct pressure
  • Visual frame check and clean

GENERAL SERVICE

This service is recommended as an annual service for those bikes that are in regular use.

The price covers the cost of all labour for fitting new parts.

This service includes:

  • All brake and gear cables checked for wear and damage and replaced if necessary
  • Drivetrain (Chain, cassette and chain-rings) removed, cleaned, checked for wear and re-lubricated
  • Gear indexing
  • Brake alignment
  • Headset checked for free movement, tightened and re-greased if necessary
  • Bottom Bracket checked for movement and tightened if necessary
  • Wheels are removed, rims checked for wear and damage, hubs checked and tightened, wheels trued and spokes re-tensioned
  • Bolts checked and tightened
  • Tyres checked and inflated to the correct pressure
  • Hydraulic disk brake bleed and fluid replacement if required
  • Visual frame check and clean

*£95 if the bike has hydraulic brakes that need servicing.

RACING SERVICE

This is our most comprehensive service; the bike will be fully stripped down, greased and rebuilt.

This service is designed for bikes that are used heavily all year round.

This service includes a General Service plus:

  • New gear and brake cables and housing
  • Full frame strip down and parts clean
  • Chase out the bottom bracket threads and re-face the shell
  • Re-face the headtube
  • Headset stripped down and re-greased
  • Hub service (including new bearings)

BOOK IN FOR A SERVICE

The workshop operates a booking system so that all jobs are allocated the correct amount of time for completion.

To book a repair into the workshop you can:

What happens after I’ve booked in?

Once we have confirmed your booking we ask you to bring your bike in by 11am on the day of your service and it will be ready for collection by 5.30pm that afternoon as long as there are no unforeseen issues. If you would like to drop your bicycle in to us prior to the day of service please arrange this at the time of booking. When the bike is brought in a member of staff will go through your requirements and provide you with an outline estimate of what will be required. Should this change when we start work we shall contact you.

We will on occasion impose a storage charge of £5 per day if the bike has not been collected on the agreed date.

CUSTOM BUILDS

We can undertake custom bike builds to your specification

Due to the unique nature of custom builds all jobs are priced on an individual basis.

As a guideline - we offer a free build (worth £100) when all of the components are purchased from us and offer a free six week check up (worth £40)!
